New Students

Our MCR Committee has a dedicated First Year Representative, who can welcome, support, and represent first year graduate students!
The First Year Representative also co-ordinates events for ‘Freshers’ Week’ in Michaelmas term. For 2019-20, this runs from Saturday 5th October to Sunday 13th of October and will provide a range of events and activities to help you settle in to college life, meet other new students and get to know Cambridge.

You can find more information regarding your arrival on the College’s website and in our Handbook for new graduate students at Peterhouse: “The New Petrean”.

To join Peterhouse and the University of Cambridge, you will need to be formally matriculated. Matriculation 2019 will take place on Monday 7th October and attendance is compulsory. It is recommended that new students move in by Sunday 6th October at the latest.

If you have any concerns or questions we encourage you to get in touch with our current First Year Representative, Alicia Mavor (MCR-First[at] and the rest of our committee who are all happy to help.
